the night before halloween, my father got his hand caught in a table saw. from the base of his left pointer finger, to the wrist was sliced open, all the way through the bone. he got lucky, if the cut would have been a millimeter to one side or the other, or turned even a half of a degree, he most likly would have cut one or both tendons in his thumb. i had to rush him to the er, and when they got him in surgery, they pinned the bone, sewed the muscles and flesh back together, and kept him overnight for observation. i learned that when the mind becomes stressed like that, it tries to distract itself. the only thought that was going through my mind was "boy am i glad he didn't bleed on my car" it seems rediculous to hear it, but that is what happened. i am glad to say, that he is doing well, but cannot use his left hand for anything...
